Another day another concert! This week we were catapulted back to the 2000s with Ne-Yo performing in Zurich. The celebrated R&B singer & songwriter known for his smooth vocals and chart-topping hits, graced Zurich with all of his hits.
While the seats were totally sold out, there was a tiny bit of space left down in the GA area. But The Hall was nicely filled and the people were excited! The evening was kicked off with a warm-up by host Terrence “Raw Swagger” Green. Though we missed most of this part, we could hear the crowd through the closed doors while waiting to get into the pit. Once we got in, we could see that even the people up on the balcony were mostly up on their feet and cheering loudly.
Ne-Yo Opening the Show with “Closer”
Around 8:20 PM, Ne-Yo took the stage, looking as youthful as ever in a stunning red suit and hat. He opened the show with a bang—no, the banger—“Closer,” which had the audience singing along at the top of their lungs. Capturing pictures during this song was a challenge as this is one of those songs that cannot make you stand still…
Throughout the night, Ne-Yo dazzled in various outfits, switching from his red ensemble to a sparkly black suit and later to a crisp white one. Each look was impeccable, matching his smooth stage presence. Also, I can confirm, he still got the moves 😀
A highlight of the show was a dance-off among three fans that were picked out of the audience. All the contestants impressed, but for me, contestant number one stood out with not only her moves but a very cool outfit
Hit after Hit at The Hall
Ne-Yo treated fans to a medley of his greatest hits, including “So Sick” and “Miss Independent.” We also got to listen to some of the big hits he wrote for other great artists. Terrence Green highlighted some of the iconic songs Ne-Yo wrote, such as Rihanna’s “Take a Bow” and Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable.” Ne-Yo then returned to perform “Let Me Love You,” a massive hit he wrote for Mario.
In summary, Ne-Yo’s performance was a nostalgic trip for 2000s R&B lovers, leaving hearts full and memories cherished.
