Another day another concert! With Nick Carter in Zurich, it was another “throwback” show back to the 90s and early 2000s. The Backstreet Boys member just started his solo European tour. With the Backstreet Boys not performing together at the moment, Nick is keeping their spirit alive on his own.

Nick performed in Zurich at Mascotte instead of the originally planned Volkshaus. The smaller venue might mean fewer tickets sold, but it also gave fans a more personal and up-close experience, which is always awesome.

A Pumped-Up Crowd and a Mix of Old and New Songs

After a nearly 20-minute delay due to technical issues, Nick hit the stage around 9:20 PM. The crowd, mostly female (no surprise there), went wild, just like in the late 90s. Screaming and reaching out to touch him. Carter’s charm is definitely still strong.

The setlist was a nice mix. Nick played his solo songs like “Blow Your Mind,” “19 in 99,” “I’m Taking Off,” and “Get Over Me.” He also performed a bunch of Backstreet Boys hits, starting with “Larger Than Life.” Fans especially loved “I Need You Tonight” from the Millennium album. My personal highlight was for sure “Quit Playing Games”.

Nick also threw in some fun covers, including “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” by Simple Minds, a bit of Elton John’s “Rocket Man,” and Bon Jovi’s “Dead or Alive.” The night ended on a high note with “Backstreet’s Back”.

Overall, Nick Carter’s concert at Mascotte was entertaining. Sure, there were a few moments that felt a bit cheesy, and Nick didn’t hit all the notes perfectly. But he made up for it with his great stage presence and the way he connected with the fans. He seemed in a great mood, smiled all night long, and put on a fun show. I’m sure most people left with a smile on their faces too and left them feeling energized and happy.
