Another day, another concert—this time with Italian superstar Marco Mengoni a Zurigo in  Hallenstadion. For anyone new to him, Marco is one of Italy’s most beloved and versatile artists, known for his powerful vocals, emotional depth, and magnetic stage presence.

I’ve had the chance to see and photograph him many times over the years, and I keep coming back because he’s just that good. Every show feels like a fresh experience, and this night was no exception.

A Massive Production and Spectacular Stage Design

This time around, Marco arrived with a truly massive production. The stage was filled with enormous rocks and boulders, a full team of dancers, and an insane catwalk that moved up and down and even rotated around. The logistics behind this setup must have been absolutely wild, but the result was an unforgettable visual experience.

Marco Mengoni a Zurigo: Spacious but Still Spirited

While Hallenstadion wasn’t sold out this time, there were noticeably empty seats and plenty of space in GA sadly. It did come with one unexpected perk: lots of room to dance. And as we all know, Italians know exactly how to party… And they did! Still, the slightly emptier room meant the atmosphere didn’t quite reach the intensity of some previous shows. This is really complaining on a high level though, because even with fewer people, the crowd was still louder than many larger audiences I’ve seen. Truly Italians at their best.

Musical Highlights, Covers, and Heartwarming Fan Moments

One of my favorite parts of the night were the little cover snippets Marco added in—going from “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden to “Ready or Not” by the Fugees was such a fun surprise. Of course, he also delivered all the hits: Guerriero, Hola, Pazza Musica, Due Vite, L’Essenziale, and Ma Stasera. He mixed in some songs I hadn’t heard before too, making for a perfect blend of old and new. Toward the end of the show, Marco even took time to read fans’ banners, creating sweet and hilarious moments. It involved hugging a young girl at her mother’s request and attempting to lip-read a fan’s name to sing her a birthday song. Not sure he got it right, but watching him try was hilarous.

The Perfect Ending to a Night Full of Emotion

Marco closed the night with the party-banger “Io Ti Aspetto,” getting everyone back on their feet and dancing like there was no tomorrow. I adore these shows so much—the emotions, the vibes, the connection, even for someone like me who doesn’t speak Italian.

Music is universal, and Marco proves that every single time. So much love to Marco and the entire crew for another wonderful night. And huge thanks to Live Nation Italia and Live Nation Switzerland for having me again. I’ll be back every time if you’ll have me. ❤️
