Another day, another concert – this time it was Jon Batiste at Baloise Session. For those who don’t know, Jon Batiste is a Grammy-winning musician, bandleader, and all-around powerhouse of musicality. I was so happy to see him on the lineup!

After seeing him in Bern this summer, I thought I knew what to expect… or did I? I still can’t get over the first act of the night. Ca7riel y Paco Amoroso absolutely blew me away—an incredible show from start to finish. You can check out my photos of them here: Ca7riel y Paco Amoroso at Baloise Session.

Jon Batiste Delivers Passion and Musicality

Of course, I came to see Jon Batiste again—and did he deliver? Absolutely. Even though he was 30 minutes late (a bit of a bummer, especially with a Swiss audience that doesn’t love waiting), he more than made up for it. Jon was just as I remembered: oozing with passion and musicality, a joy to watch, and nothing short of amazing. I do have to admit, I missed his little stories in between songs. His Bern show had more storytelling, which really highlighted his love for the art. But seeing him play guitar live was definitely a highlight.

A Perfect Ending at One of Switzerland’s Most Intimate Festivals

After a little over an hour, he wrapped up his set, interacting with fans in the front, signing vinyls and even a hand or two. (Do people still do that?!) Sadly, this was my last night at Baloise Session this year. But I’m so happy I got to attend two shows again. This festival remains one of the most intimate and beautiful indoor festivals in Switzerland, and I can’t wait to see next year’s lineup!
