Another day, another concert. This time it was The Offspring and Simple Plan in Zurich. The Offspring brought their “SUPERCHARGED WORLDWIDE IN ’25” tour to Zurich’s Hallenstadion and brought Simple Plan along for the ride.
The show was pretty much sold out, and you could tell by the temperature in the venue. It got hot so fast. The anticipation was huge, and the energy in the air promised an exciting night of punk rock nostalgia and chaos.
Simple Plan Steals the Spotlight
First up were the openers, and honestly my personal highlight of the night… Simple Plan. I was almost looking forward to their set more than The Offspring’s. Sorry not sorry. But that’s probably also because we were allowed to shoot from the pit during their show :D. Having photographed them once back in 2023 and absolutely loving it, I knew they’d deliver. While the energy in the room wasn’t quite at its peak yet, Simple Plan still gave it their all. Quite a few fans up front were singing along, waving their arms, and clearly enjoying themselves. The Canadians brought their A-game, filling their slot with hits, fun interactions, and even beach balls to bring the Summer Paradise vibes. Their set definitely felt like way more than “just” a support act.

The Offspring and Simple Plan in Zurich
At 9 PM, the countdown started and it was time for The Offspring. By then, the Hallenstadion was completely packed, and you could feel the tension building. Having seen them in Winterthur back in 2023, I knew the crowd could get a little rowdy. And they didn’t disappoint. Mosh pits broke out everywhere, and I was glad not to be down in the GA section. Not sure I would survive this kind of mayhem. The setlist brought plenty of nostalgic memories. Although some of the band’s interactions and talking points felt a bit too rehearsed or even cringe at times the energy was undeniable and the fans were clearly having the time of their lives.
Stage Production, Chaos, and Closing Thoughts
The stage setup added an extra punch to the night. Giant blow-up skeletons with smoke coming out of their mouths looked super cool. The oversized beach balls bouncing around the crowd tied in nicely with Simple Plan’s earlier theme. At least two of those balls didn’t make it back, deflating and disappearing into the sea of fans :D.
All in all, it was an interesting night full of nostalgia, high energy, and plenty of sweat. While The Offspring did what they do best, Simple Plan definitely stole my heart once again.
