Another day, another concert – this time A Day To Remember in Zurich brought the heat (literally) to X-TRA. A Day To Remember (often abbreviated as ADTR) are a genre-blending powerhouse from Florida. They’re known for fusing pop-punk melodies with metalcore breakdowns. They’ve built a massive following with their high-energy live shows and relatable anthems – and Tuesday night was no exception.

The venue was nicely filled (not quite sold out though), and the temperature was already high before the first band even hit the stage. Opening the night was Polaris, an Aussie metalcore band known for blending heavy riffs with emotional melodies. While no actual warm-up was needed (we were all sweating already), Polaris delivered a high-energy set. They had the crowd moving from the very beginning. Mosh pits opened, fans were headbanging and jumping around. I loved how quite a few already showed up in Polaris merch – clearly not their first rodeo.

Shortly after 9 PM, it was finally time for ADTR to take over. They came in with a bang, instantly igniting the already-electric crowd. It was clear that everyone was having a blast – some fans were wide-eyed and soaking it all in, while others were screaming their lungs out. I looooove seeing everyone enjoy a show in their own way.

Even though I wasn’t super familiar with their music (yes, I know they’ve been around for decades!), I could absolutely feel the impact of their performance. Compared to Polaris’ intense and heavier vibe, ADTR brought a lighter, almost playful and positive energy that made the night feel like a giant party.

Surprise Moments and Crowd Mayhem at X-TRA

One unexpected but unforgettable moment? The cover of Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone.” Did I think I’d be belting out a 2000s pop anthem at a rock show? Nope. But there I was, singing along with the rest of the crowd. And then there were the circle pits and crowd surfers. Pure chaos in my eyes, but somehow it’s the most normal thing at these shows :D. I’m still amazed every time I see people full-on sprinting into each other and somehow enjoying it. The highlight? A quadruple crowd-surf moment – one guy on the bottom, three more stacked on top. For a brief second, it was human Tetris in midair. Insane!

A Day To Remember in Zurich – Delivered Chaos, Confetti, and Pure Fun

To top off the night, ADTR didn’t just bring musical bangers – they brought confetti, streamers, huge beach balls and even toilet paper flying through the air. The atmosphere was wild, fun, and absolutely unforgettable. Whether you were a longtime fan or, like me, just discovering their music, there was something magical about the energy in that room. Let me tell you – it was one hell of an entertaining night. Will I go to another ADTR show? Without a doubt!
