Another day another concert, this time we got to see Jacob Banks in Zurich. If you don’t know Jacob Banks yet – you’re missing out. The Nigerian-born, UK-based singer-songwriter has been blessing us with his deep, soulful voice for years now.
I first discovered him back in 2017 and even had the chance to interview him back then. Thursday’s show took place at Kaufleuten, one of Zurich’s cozier and more intimate venues. While it took a little while for the space to fill up, the moment the support act Aime Blu took the stage, the venue suddenly felt packed.
Amie Blu Sets the Tone for an Intimate Night
Aime Blu, with her calm presence and a stunningly soft voice – opened the evening with a beautifully mellow set that set the perfect tone for what was to come.

Then, right on time at 8:30pm, Jacob Banks stepped onto the stage. The crowd, a wonderfully diverse mix of fans, was more than ready. The atmosphere throughout the evening was super chill. Just the perfect environment to enjoy his incredible vocals.
A Masterclass in Minimalism and Emotion
Jacob Banks isn’t one for long speeches or much banter – he addressed the audience just a handful of times. But honestly? It wasn’t needed. His stage presence, paired with those vocals and subtle gestures, were more than enough to keep everyone captivated. Unlike some other shows, there was no need for over-the-top interaction or unnecessary “bla bla” – it was just pure music, and it was perfect. He performed a few songs off his recent “Yonder” EPs, like “All Aboard,” “Gone Are the Days,” and “A Tree Never Waters Itself,” alongside crowd favorites like “Monster” and “Chainsmoking” that brought a wave of nostalgia and excitement through the room.

Jacob Banks Delivers Another Great Zurich Concert
One of my favorite things that night was watching the crowd – a few people stood out, completely lost in the music, feeling every note deep in their bones. There were lots of lovey-dovey couples, too, swaying to the rhythm, completely in their moment. It was beautiful to witness. The production remained simple throughout the night. A few perfectly timed lights and effects, but nothing too dramatic. Just Jacob, two talented band members, and the music. And honestly, that really was all it needed. Sometimes less really is more. All in all, it was another great performance by Jacob Banks. His voice and lyrics will forever give me chills – in the best way possible.
