Another day, another concert! On Monday, it was time to see Jake Isaac in Zurich, taking the stage at Papiersaal. This was a show I had been looking forward to immensely after seeing him live in London last November.

Coming off the high of Matt Hansen’s performance the night before, this show had quite a different vibe—more soulful, more intimate, and with an audience that was definitely older than the night before. But one thing was clear: the people in the room were true music lovers, ready to soak up every moment.

Sophie Faith – A Soulful Opening Act

Before Jake graced the stage, we were treated to an opening set by Sophie Faith. For those unfamiliar with her, Sophie is a London-based singer-songwriter with a rich, soulful voice that immediately draws you in. She has a way of blending R&B, jazz, and neo-soul effortlessly, and her performance at Papiersaal was no exception. With her stunning vocals, she set the perfect tone for the evening. If you ever get the chance to see her live, don’t hesitate—go!

Jake Isaac & His Incredible Band

At around 8:30 PM, Jake Isaac finally took the stage, accompanied by a full band and two incredible vocalists. Seeing him perform with such a dynamic group was an absolute treat. Junior on drums brought infectious energy and the biggest smiles, while Charlie on bass delivered world-class grooves all night long. Alwyin on guitar played the role of the mysterious background figure, blessing us with incredible riffs and solos. And, of course, Cece and Ness, the vocal powerhouses, harmonized beautifully with Jake and each other, adding an extra layer of magic to the performance.

A Night of Intimate and Soulful Moments

Though the show wasn’t quite sold out, the love in the room was undeniable. Jake’s mix of heartfelt tunes, humor, and undeniable talent made for an unforgettable night. While he still embraces his folky roots, it was clear how much he enjoys performing songs from his latest album, Benjamin—he was truly feeling the music. Seeing artists not only connect with the audience, but also with the band and themselves is such a great thing to see and for sure makes the concert experience even more exciting for me.

One of the most special moments of the night was when he, along with Charlie, Cece, and Ness, jumped into the crowd and performed right in the middle of the audience. It was intimate, raw, and felt like a private concert just for us. And while the full-band experience was incredible, his encore—just him, his guitar, and his voice—was pure gold. So as you can probably tell, I loved every second of the show. I’ve seen him live several times now, but I will for sure come back everytime. Hopefully, next time, you will too!
