Another Day, Another Concert, on Friday we saw Franz Ferdinand in Zurich. The indie rock legends Franz Ferdinand took over a sold-out X-TRA in Zurich, and they did not disappoint.

The Scottish band has been a staple in the indie rock scene since the early 2000s, known for their infectious riffs and very danceable beats. With hits like Take Me Out and Do You Want To, they’ve built a reputation for high-energy performances that get the crowd moving. Friday night was for sure no exception as I quickly realized.

Before Franz Ferdinand hit the stage, support act Master Peace warmed up the crowd. The London-based artist blends indie rock with elements of punk and hip-hop, creating a fresh and energetic sound. His set was full of energy, getting people ready for the main event.

Time for Franz Ferdinand to Take us Out 😉

Shortly after 9, it was time for Franz Ferdinand to take the stage. You could feel the excitement and could see some people getting antsy. But once the band got on stage, the fans started cheering and clapping like there was no tomorrow.

I absolutely loved the vibes at X-TRA and was glad to be at another show with people my age. Even though I didn’t know many of the songs, I still had a blast, with a few “aha” moments when I realized I actually did recognize some tracks—especially Take Me Out (because let’s be honest, who doesn’t know that one?). The crowd was unexpectedly wild, with constant clapping, jumping, and even mosh pits breaking out. It had been a while since I’d seen such an active audience at an indie rock show. After such an amazing night, I know for sure—I’ll be back when they return!
