Another night, another concert, this time it was Franz Ferdinand in Zurich at The Hall. There’s something timeless about Franz Ferdinand. The Glasgow icons have been soundtracking sweaty indie dancefloors for years, and stepping into Zurich’s hall felt like stepping into a living, breathing jukebox of sharp riffs and restless energy.
The venue wasn’t sold out, but the general admission area pulsed with anticipation, comfortably packed with fans ready to move. Compared to their last Zurich stop at X-TRA, this was a clear upgrade, giving the band more room to stretch and the crowd more space to lose themselves.
French support act Irnini Mons set the tone early. Their performance had a raw, slightly chaotic charm that worked perfectly as an opener. They didn’t just warm up the crowd, they nudged it awake. Heads started nodding, bodies loosened.

Around 20:30, the lights dipped and the familiar buzz turned into something sharper. Franz Ferdinand in Zurich was officially on! From the first notes, the energy snapped into place. Alex Kapranos was in constant dialogue with the crowd, throwing smiles, gestures, and little moments of connection that made the whole room feel involved. It wasn’t just a performance, it felt like a conversation set to a relentless indie beat. The band, tight and clearly enjoying themselves, filled the stage effortlessly, every member locked into the rhythm.
Franz Ferdinand in Zurich: A Night That Delivered
There’s a particular joy in seeing a band like this live again, especially on a bigger stage that matches their presence. The crowd fed off every guitar stab and drum hit, and the band gave it right back, looping that energy into something that never really dipped. No need for overproduction or spectacle, just sharp songs, confident delivery, and genuine interaction.
By the end of the night, it was clear: Franz Ferdinand in Zurich still hits exactly where it should. Familiar, electric, and just the right amount of chaotic. A great night, once again, with a band that simply knows how to make a room move.
