Another night, another concert, and we’re back with Alter Bridge in Zurich. We got to see the American rock heavyweights and were promised riffs, emotion, and a stacked lineup. Alter Bridge, known for their powerful blend of melodic metal and hard rock, have built a loyal global fanbase over the years and Zurich was clearly ready to welcome them.
Three great bands were on the line up that night, making it a full evening of live music. The Hall wasn’t completely sold out and around 4,000 people expected. When first entering the venue it honestly didn’t look like that number would be reached. But that changed quite fast as more and more fans poured in and the room slowly came alive.
Sevendust Set the Tone
First up were Sevendust, a band that has been a staple of the alternative metal scene for decades. With their heavy grooves, strong vocals, and undeniable stage presence, they did exactly what an opening band should do: warm up the crowd and set the tone for the night ahead.

Daughtry Steal the Spotlight
Next up was my secret highlight of the evening: Daughtry. Formed around Chris Daughtry after his American Idol journey. The band has carved out a solid place in modern rock and in my heart. Having followed Chris’ career since those early days, I was super excited to be able to see and photograph the band again after the last time at Komplex. They delivered a great set, and I loved that they seemed to have a bit more time to play than what support slots usually allow.

Alter Bridge Take Over Zurich
A little after 21:15 it was finally time for Alter Bridge. Seeing the fans light up the moment the band entered the stage was special, and you could feel the energy right away. While this was a band I knew of, I’ll admit I didn’t really know their songs. So discovering their music live was exciting. I was told beforehand to keep an eye on Mark Tremonti as he apparently has an incredible stage presence. And yes, I can confirm that is 100% true. Watching him was a sight for sore eyes, pure passion and love for music and his guitar. All members were incredibly charismatic though.
What surprised me a bit was, that while the energy was strong in the front rows, further back and on the balcony it almost felt a bit dead. I expected a bit more energy from the crowd to be honest. Still, every now and then the spark returned.
All in all, Alter Bridge in Zurich was an enjoyable rock show with good sound, happy fans, and a performance that might just convince me to catch a Tremonti solo show in Zurich someday 😄🎸
