Another day, another concert – this time it was Tors in Zurich at Plaza. In case you’re not familiar with them yet, the band is made up of brothers Matt and Theo Weedon and their longtime friend Jack Bowden. They’re known for heartfelt lyrics, warm harmonies, and an effortlessly engaging stage presence.

I first discovered Tors when they supported Myles Smith a while back and instantly fell in love with their vibe. So finally seeing and photographing them at one of their own headline shows felt extra special.

Before Tors hit the stage, the night opened with the young, super sweet, and incredibly talented Jo Hill. With her captivating voice and authentic presence, she brought a refreshing touch of country-pop energy to the Plaza. Her songs filled the room with warmth. And I for one very much appreciated the country vibes she added to the evening. It was the perfect start and a lovely surprise for anyone who hadn’t heard her before.

Fans, Energy, and One Very “Polite” Zurich Crowd

At around 8:30 pm, it was time for Tors… And the fans were ready. I quickly realized I was probably one of the oldest in the room. Apart from the parents who got dragged along, haha. But honestly, I’m used to this by now. Tors came out strong, and the front rows matched that energy instantly. Lots of cheering, dancing, and even a few emotional tears.

During “Happy Enough,” fans held up adorable cloud-shaped signs reading “You make us feel happy enough tonight”. Singer Matt instantly smiles and chuckled a little when he saw the signs. He also kept joking about how “polite” the Zurich audience was (or was he actually roasting us). It got me giggling though, because honestly… These fans were pretty loud and happy! Sure, Swiss crowds can be more reserved. But if this was considered polite, I don’t want to know how wild other cities get. Personally, I thought the vibe was great.

Emotional Highlights, Fan Moments, and a Strong Finish

One moment that hit especially close to heart was hearing “Never Give Up” live. My comfort song from this past year. It was powerful, uplifting, and somehow even better in person. During the track, seven fans were invited on stage to dance it out together. While Matt himself later hopped off the stage to have a little dance-off with fans further back in the room. We also got treated to some new songs where the die-hard fans in the crowd sang along as if they’d known them for years.

All in all, it was another wonderful night at an (almost, I think) sold-out Plaza. Full of joy, connection, and that unmistakable Tors magic.
