Another year, another Country Night Gstaad! This past weekend, country music fans from near and far gathered in Gstaad for one of Switzerland’s most iconic festivals. With a strong lineup and headliner Scotty McCreery, the stage was set for an unforgettable evening of music, stories, and community. While there were unfortunately more empty seats than expected, those who came were treated to a lineup that did not disappoint.
First up was Swiss country artist Florian Fox, who returned to the Country Night Gstaad stage. I’ve seen him up here twice now, and a few times opening for other acts in Zurich. Known for blending classic country influences with his own modern twist, he kicked off the night with plenty of charm and energy.

Hailey Whitters Shines Bright
Next, the stage belonged to Hailey Whitters, a rising star from Iowa. She’s been making a name for herself in Nashville. With heartfelt songwriting and a distinctive sound that blends modern country with a touch of Americana. From the moment she walked on stage, she had the room captivated. Her voice sounded absolutely stunning, her band was tight, and her entire stage presence was glowing. She was radiant—though I’m sure it wasn’t only because she’s expecting a baby soon. The audience clearly adored her too, and it was beautiful to see how smitten everyone was with her performance.

Old Crow Medicine Show Brings the Energy
Then came the legendary Old Crow Medicine Show, the Grammy Award-winning string band. With fiddles, banjos, harmonicas, and boundless energy, they brought a whirlwind of fun and chaos to the stage. Their set was full of movement and surprises, and the highlight was when they invited Miss Helvetia on stage. Together, they delivered a unique performance that included the Swiss classic “Vogel Lisi”. A moment that had both me and the crowd genuinely impressed. Even though the audience remained a little reserved, you could feel the excitement ripple through the room esp. During the swiss song 🙂

Scotty McCreery Closes Out Country Night Gstaad
Finally, it was time for the headliner: Scotty McCreery. The former American Idol winner has carved out a solid career in country music with hits like “Five More Minutes” and “Damn Strait.” Compared to Old Crow’s lively chaos, Scotty’s set was calmer and more laid-back, but it suited him perfectly. His deep, warm voice carried through the venue beautifully, and he sprinkled his set with little stories about his songs, making the night feel intimate. A personal highlight was his old-school country medley toward the end, which tied everything together wonderfully. Scotty delivered a solid, heartfelt performance that reminded everyone why he’s become such a beloved figure in modern country music.

Final Thoughts on Country Night Gstaad 2025
Overall, I really enjoyed this year’s lineup at Country Night Gstaad. From the local flavor of Florian Fox, the glowing performance by Hailey Whitters, the whirlwind energy of Old Crow Medicine Show, to the heartfelt headlining set by Scotty McCreery—it was a night filled with variety and talent. The only downside was seeing so many empty seats, which made me feel a bit sad, given how strong the lineup was. Still, for those who came, it was a night to remember.
