Another day, another concert – this time it was LEAP in Zurich, performing at Mascotte. Finally they’re back in Zurich, and I couldn’t be happier. This band is so criminally underrated, it’s honestly hard to believe.
I first discovered them when they played at Werk21 (check out my photos: LEAP at Werk21) and I was absolutely blown away. Seeing them return, this time at Mascotte, felt like a full-circle moment – and what a night it was.
Crimson Bloom Kicks Things Off at Mascotte
Before LEAP took the stage, we got a killer opening set from Crimson Bloom . A perfect warm-up act that really got the crowd moving. Definitely a band to keep an eye on if you’re into moody, hard-hitting guitar-driven tunes.

LEAP’s Electric Connection with Fans
LEAP came on at around 8:30 PM – but they actually stepped out a bit earlier than expected. They greeted fans, gave high-fives, and even clink glasses or beer bottles with the front row. It’s this kind of connection that makes me love them so much. They remember faces, they interact genuinely, and it’s clear they care about their audience. As soon as the first note hit, the room exploded with energy. Four people on stage, but the vibe of a 10-piece band. Singer Jack was everywhere – sprinting across the stage, making eye contact with fans, and probably making a few hearts melt in the process.
Highlights from the Setlist and a Night to Remember
The setlist had everything I hoped for. I was beyond happy to hear my faves, including “Vision of Us” – and yep, that’s when the first mosh pit of the night broke out. At Mascotte! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pit there before, and with the venue announcing it’s closing for good at the end of 2025, it might have been the last one. Mascotte has been part of Zurich’s nightlife for over 100 years – a heartbreaking loss for the local scene. But even amidst that sadness, LEAP gave us a show to remember. One especially sweet moment? A young kid in the front row who got pulled on stage twice by Jack. That little fan is going to remember this night for the rest of his life – and honestly, so will I. As you can tell, I go to a lot of shows, but the really good ones, I remember for a looooong time.

What’s Next for LEAP? A New Album and More Swiss Dates
LEAP didn’t just treat us to hits from their past EPs – they also gave us a taste of new songs from their upcoming album. I can’t wait to hear the full thing. And shout-out to their PR team: they handed out tiny postcard shaped vinyl records you could only get if you pre-ordered the record. Of course I fell for it – who wouldn’t? If creative merch helps support a band this good, I’m all in.

Having seen LEAP grow from a tiny stage at Werk21 to a packed room at Mascotte, I can confidently say they’re made for bigger venues – but selfishly, I loved experiencing their magic up close again. If this was your first time seeing LEAP in Zurich, I hope you were as blown away as I was. The best news? They said they’ll be back in October – so keep your eyes peeled and your calendars open. I know I will.
