Now if this isn’t the highlight of the year – for me at least! Gavin DeGraw is not coming back to Switzerland – not only for one show, no, TWO! He’ll be playing in Bern as well as in Zurich. So you better mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy 2 amazing gigs by this talented singer-songwriter. You’ll find me at both shows for sure.

In case you don’t know of or about Gavin yet – it’s time to do some research 😀 Gavin DeGraw is an American singer-songwriter, known for his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics.

His big breakthrough was with “I Don’t Want to Be” which was the theme song of the tv show “One Tree Hill”. Obviously, there are many more successful singles and albums he released, but I think he’s actually become mostly loved by his fans for his songwriting in general.

It’s about time Gavin DeGraw is coming back!

Those of you who know me, know that Gavin is in my top3 artists of all time. I’ve had the chance to see him many times over the years and got to see him perform in front of maybe 200 people as well as in bigger arenas. I was lucky enough to see him in LA last year, but here in Switzerland, I think it must have been around 6 years since his last concert. So it’s about damn time he is coming back 🙂

He’s since released his latest Album “Face the River” which he toured with in the US. It’s his seventh album! On this record, Gavin relives his most significant memories and most valuable lessons learned from his parents that have unfortunately passed.  As mentioned, I was lucky enough to see one of his first shows in LA back when the album wasn’t even out. He played the entire album front to back and added in some old bops of course. Seeing him perform at the prestigious Hotel Café – such a small and intimate venue, was great. Reuniting with fellow Gavin fans that have become friends over the years was even better 🙂

“Lighthouse” is one of my favorite songs on the new album. Apart from knowing and hearing that particular song years ago as (i think) part of the long-lost Ithaca Tapes (IYKYK), it’s a powerful anthem about being a beacon of light for those who are struggling. The melody and his vocals on this song are *ChefsKiss*. Go have a listen:
