Almost Monday at Luzern Live – once again: another day, another concert… Luzern Live never disappoints when it comes to showcasing a wide variety of genres and artists. This week’s free show by Almost Monday at the Pavilion in Lucerne was no exception.
The San Diego-based trio is made up of Dawson Daugherty (vocals), Luke Fabry (bass), and Cole Clisby (guitar). They’re known for their upbeat and super catchy indie pop sound and infectious stage energy. I’ve been listening to these guys for at least the last six months (probably even longer). So I was beyond excited to see them appear on this year’s lineup. And on a Thursday night no less, which made it Almost Friday, aka the perfect day for an Almost Monday show.

Free Show, Big Crowd, Even Bigger Vibes
The gig took place at the beautiful Pavilion stage, which offers a partial view of Lake Lucerne for the band… At least in theory. With so many people showing up, the view was mostly blocked. While the area right in front of the stage started out fairly open (let’s say spacious), that didn’t last long. Swiss audiences are often a little reserved at first. But Almost Monday’s infectious energy quickly pulled people in, and it didn’t take long until a lively crowd had formed.
An Adorable Superfan at Almost Monday at Luzern Live
My fangirl heart skipped a beat, when singer Dawson spotted a young fan in the front row wearing an Almost Monday shirt and singing along to every single song. She was absolutely glowing with joy, and it was clear that this moment meant the world to her. Dawson gave her plenty of attention throughout the set. It’s always magical to witness these sweet connections between artists and fans.

Feel-Good Music and a Perfect Festival Kick-Off
The guys delivered an energetic, fun-filled set with all my favorite tracks like “Can’t Slow Down,” “Jupiter,” and “Sunburn,” along with a few lesser-known tunes that still hit hard and kept the crowd dancing. My personal highlight was “Sun Keeps Shining”. This is my go-to feel-good song and definitely felt like the perfect anthem for a sunny summer night in Lucerne.
All in all, Almost Monday at Luzern Live was the perfect way to kick off this year’s festival! Great music, beautiful weather, and a happy, dancing crowd. I already can’t wait to see what the rest of Luzern Live has in store!
