Another year, another Montreux Jazz Festival 2025! If you haven’t visited yet, you should get this festival on your bucket list for sure. It still is one of the most prestigious music festivals in the world. I was lucky to have been able to got to several shows during the last couple of years, and will be back this year too…

This year’s edition features another dynamic lineup that blends iconic artists with emerging talents, set against the stunning backdrop of Montreux’s lakeside and historic venues.

My Personal Festival Highlights

One of my most anticipated performances is for sure RAYE, who, after wow-ing the audience last year with a mesmerizing set (and a live recording of her set), returns to Montreux as a headliner on the Lake Stage. Go check out my review and photos from her performance: RAYE at Montreux Jazz Festival 2024

Another highlight is American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan, making his long-awaited return to Switzerland. Seeing him as a support act for Dean Lewis at Kaufleuten to now having him headline MJF is quite an amazing experience. Known for his heartfelt lyrics and folk-inspired melodies, he will for sure attract maaaaany many people to Montreux.

Sadly I won’t be able to be there for it, but latin music superstar J Balvin is also set to bring his vibrant reggaeton beats to Montreux, adding a global flair to the festival’s diverse lineup.

Free program at Montreux Jazz Festival 2025

The festival also features free stages, offering attendees the chance to discover new talents and enjoy spontaneous performances throughout Montreux.

The festival isn’t just about major headliners and big-ticket performances. It also features pool parties, silent discos, outdoor concerts, jam sessions, workshops, and late-night electronic sets. Each year, up to 250 free events—concerts, DJ sets, and activities—take place from midday until 5 in the morning.

These free experiences unfold across some of Montreux’s most picturesque locations, highlighting the festival’s dedication to accessibility and community spirit. It’s a space where both up-and-coming talents and established artists can connect with a broad and varied audience.

The free program was just announced today. I was super excited to see that Matt Hansen – whom I’ve seen perform at Papiersaal a while ago is on the list.

Also Mackenzy Mackay will be performing at MJF – and let me tell you, his gig at Exil last year was one of the coolest shows I’ve been to last year. So make sure to go check him out if you can. Such a talented dude!

But there’s a lot more to discover too:
