Another day, another concert – Lord Huron in Zurich was a show I was very excited for. The indie-folk band from Los Angeles is best known for their cinematic soundscapes and their specific way of storytelling.

The evening kicked off with Pillow Queens, an Irish indie-rock band known for their heartfelt lyrics and raw energy. Unfortunately, when they first stepped on stage, the venue was still quite empty. That felt a little unfair to their performance. That said, they delivered a solid set and managed to warm up the growing crowd nicely.

Lord Huron’s Unique Stage Presence

By the time Lord Huron took the stage, Halle 622 had filled up considerably. The setup was as very charming and pretty, featuring a glittery backdrop, a giant jukebox, and even an old-school phone booth. The phone was used in a clever way as a secondary mic. Whether it was live or playback remains a mystery, but it added a quirky and fun element to the show. The atmosphere was relaxed, with a diverse audience that skewed a little older than expected. Given the viral success of “The Night We Met” on TikTok, I anticipated more younger fans… But the crowd’s energy was still warm and appreciative.

A Memorable and Enjoyable Concert

The band’s performance was tight and engaging, with a wonderful vibe both on stage and in the audience. It was also super nice to see guitarist Brandon Walters again, especially since I’d only seen him previously with Joshua Radin. So a completely different vibe altogether. Throughout the night, I discovered a few songs I hadn’t known before, which was a great bonus. All in all, Lord Huron delivered a pretty solid show at Halle 622, leaving me curious and excited to see what the future holds for them.
