Shawn Mendes at Zurich Openair

Another day, another festival – Shawn Mendes at Zurich Openair. That was for sure something I didn’t think would ever happen, yet here we are. Myself and many others were clearly hear for it. Other than Shawn, we did get a couple other cool acts on weekend 1.

After a few rainy days leading up to the weekend, I was a little worried about the festival grounds turning into a mud bath. But to my surprise (and relief!), the grounds were actually quite dry when the gates opened. We’re off to a good start.

This year’s line-up was super diverse – from international stars to local acts, and a few that left us thinking “hmm, interesting choice” 😀 But that’s what makes festivals so much fun, right?

We kicked things off with some Swiss talent – Cachita and Benjamin Amaru both brought really nice vibes to start the festival mood.

Portugal.The Man absolutely delivered with their performance. Definitely one of my highlights of the weekend.

Nina Chuba @ Zurich Openair 2025

A very positive surprise for me was Nina Chuba. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but her set was so much fun and full of energy – I finally get the hype around her a lot more now.

We also caught SDP, and let’s just say their set was… interesting 😀 Not exactly my personal favorite music-wise, but definitely entertaining.

And then of course there was Shawn Mendes. He was for sure the main highlight for many. Watching him on stage was a treat to say the least. His energy was incredible and seeing him so happy really made my heart fill up. His set was emotional, and had the entire crowd singing along – a proper headliner moment.
