Another day, another concert – today it’s about Jade at Montreux Jazz Festival kicking off the night, opening for the incredibly talented RAYE. Best known as one-fourth of the British girl group Little Mix, Jade is now stepping into her own as a solo artist. Her performance at Montreux marked a special milestone: her first-ever solo show outside of the UK.

While most people probably came for RAYE (check out the photos of her set), it was great to see a bunch of people really enjoying Jade’s set and singing along. So even though her set was on the shorter side, she made sure to leave a lasting impression. Mixing her own solo music with a few Little Mix throwbacks, she got the crowd dancing and singing along. Apparently, her suitcase didn’t make it to Montreux, so her stage outfit had to be a last-minute improvisation — but you wouldn’t have noticed. Her energy, stage presence, and clear joy more than made up for it.

A Fun Night for Fans – and for Jade

It was surprising how many people in the audience already knew the lyrics — proof that Little Mix fans really are everywhere. Personally, I was never a huge Little Mix fan, but Jade’s solo set was entertaining and full of charm. She seemed genuinely happy to be there, and it was clear she was soaking up every moment of this career milestone. Playing at Montreux Jazz is an honor for any artist, and I’m truly happy for her.
