TakeThat Apple Music Festival

On Sunday, the second night of this years Apple Music Festival, Take That took the stage. For those of you who weren’t able to watch live, here’s a small review for you.

Since I wasn’t able to be in London myself, I, just as many others, streamed the show live through iTunes. What I can also tell you, I danced and sang along 🙂

Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald (the remaining members of the once 5 piece band) played their first show at the Roundhouse, on a small, but very colorful and impressive stage with tons of discoballs and other decoration.

From the very beginning on, the band interacted with the 2‘000 fans. The opening song Shine (from their album Beautiful World) showed off the colorful stage. The songs from back in the 90’s such as A Million Love Songs, Babe or Back For Good got many fans to swoon about their teenage years. But also the newer hits like “These Days” from their newest album “III” were performed.

During the show, the trio also showed off their other talents. Gary, who not only has a golden voice, clearly showed off his pianist skills while Mark showed everyone he’s also capable of playing the guitar. Even though I was overly happy and excited, I did get a little disappointed that they guys didn’t show us the iconic dance choreography during the song “Pray”. Pretty sure everyone missed Gary’s awesome dance moves 😉

Like many of the longtime Take That fans I also must admit, I missed Robbie Williams voice during the first verse of “The Flood”. Nevertheless, Howard filled in quite nicely and had the fans singing along either way.

The highlight of the evening was unfortunately also the grand finale. The closing song: Never Forget. Still in top condition, all 2’000 hands seemed to have popped up during the chorus and are now clapping like pros. I’ve seen it many times, but it is still a very special moment for me, even through a livestream.

Well, here are a couple of pictures:

Now we’re even more ready to see them on October 12th. The british pop-stars will be making a stop in Zurich to play the famous Hallenstadion. Shirley has mentioned it already, you’ll be in for a treat. There will be a great live-show! Get your ticket through Ticketcorner.

You also have the possibility to check out Sundays performance on iTunes. The entire show can be viewed even after it happened. How cool is that?
